One of the benefits of homeschool is not having a strict schedule to follow. I do however like a good routine so we don't get too far off schedule. So far we are staying on track even if we have to do a little extra in the evening. We love being able to get up and have a leisurely breakfast before we get started on our school day... and take a break to pick weeds from the garden or play outside (or chase chickens like yesterday lol). We can take a long lunch and eat at DQ or at the park. It's so nice! Our basic routine is to get up and have breakfast and start school by 9:00. I take turns working individually with each boy while the other is finishing up work or playing with the 2 little ones so they don't distract us. We have lunch around noon then a little playtime. After that is nap time for the little guys while we do our joint work (history/geography and science). It took a few days for us to get this down but it is working great now.
I'd like to know what you do. Do you have a basic routine? Or a schedule? Tell me about it! :)
You go girl! I am terrible about routines, it drives my husband crazy.
